Some of the best conversations happen over food and our workplace culture at DPM is built on exactly that kind of connection.
Earlier this year, DPM celebrated A Taste of Harmony, a national initiative that brings workplaces together through the one thing most of us have in common: a love of a good meal.
Our team arrived with dishes that told their own stories. Sri Lankan Cashew Curry. Hungarian Szarma (cabbage rolls). Maltese Pastizzi. British Coronation Chicken sandwiches. Filipino Chicken Sotanghon. And because no Australian spread is complete without them, fairy bread, Cheezels, cob loaf and sausage rolls.
It wasn’t a catered event or a ticketed function. It was people bringing a piece of their culture to share with their colleagues, which made it feel genuinely different from the standard workplace morning tea.
Beyond the food, the day raised funds for Brainwave, DPM’s charity partner, which supports children living with brain injuries and their families. Team members who couldn’t contribute a dish were invited to donate instead, a small gesture that added up to something meaningful.
