Lunar New Year at DPM is one of the most celebrated occasions in the world, and it’s become a chance to slow down, share food, and learn something about each other.

In 2026, we welcomed the Year of the Horse across both our Sydney and Melbourne offices, and each team did it their own way.

Our Sydney team headed out for yum cha, working through a spread of traditional dishes and testing their chopstick skills over hot tea.

In Melbourne, the office filled up with food from a favourite local Chinese restaurant. Dumplings were the obvious star, but the moment that stuck was when one of our team members brought in Bánh Chưng, a traditional Vietnamese sticky rice cake often enjoyed during Lunar New Year celebrations.

We also raised funds for our charity partner, Brainwave Australia, with a red envelope fundraiser. Team members bought a sealed envelope containing either a voucher or a surprise match to a selection of Asian snacks and treats. It was simple, fun, and a good excuse to try something new.

Lunar New Year is one of a number of moments throughout the year where DPM makes space for the cultures and stories that make up our team. If that sounds like a workplace you’d want to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
