In a world where diversity is celebrated and cherished, what better way to unite our team than through the universal language of food?
At DPM, we recently participated in A Taste of Harmony Day, an initiative that celebrates cultural diversity in the workplace through sharing food from around the globe.
Our team members brought in dishes that they are proud of, representing their culinary traditions from across the world. We enjoyed so many different dishes, to name a few, indulging in delicious Stroopwafels from The Netherlands; Italy graced us with the savory delights of Arancini; Greece shared it’s comforting Moussaka and Spanakopita; Sri Lanka brought the spice with Cashew Curry and England contributed the classic charm of Scones.
These dishes not only tantalised our taste buds but also served as a beautiful representation of the rich tapestry of cultures within our team.
For those who were unable to bring a dish but wanted to partake in the festivities, we encouraged them to join in by leaving a donation for The Asylum Seekers Resource Centre.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our team, and to add to their contributions, DPM topped up the donation. In the end, we were excited to have donated a total of $500 to this worthy cause.
A Taste of Harmony Day proved to be more than just a culinary experience; it was a celebration of our diverse backgrounds, traditions, and stories. This event has been such a tasty success that we know it will be a permanent event on the DPM calendar.
