This week, waste stations have been introduced throughout the DPM office in Melbourne that break waste from 2 waste categories to 4 categories: organic, mixed, landfill and paper.
This kind of waste management system can reduce landfill by up to 85%. With the average person producing 2.2 tonnes of waste every year and growing it is important as a business we do what we can to make a difference. The more items that are reused and recycled, the less space is needed for landfill, therefore the fewer emissions are generated.
It might seem like a small step; but it is a step forward and only one of many DPM as an organisation plans to take that’ll move us to the forefront of sustainability in the workplace!
