The Father’s Day Appeal is a major public event where The Alfred Hospital encourages men and their families to improve their health and invite the community to support their lifesaving work. On Friday 30 August 2019, The Alfred Hospital held its annual Father’s Day Appeal asking Victorians to ‘G1VE 4 LIFE’, to help provide critical care and services for dads and their families when they need it most. This year the Appeal managed raised more than $1 million to support priority areas that impact men’s health, which includes the following areas:
- Trauma services
- Cancer care
- Adult cardiac care
- Preventative health
- Mental health services
DPM has been looking after the financial well-being of medical professionals for over 50 years, so we know and understand the required dedication and sacrifices our clients make daily.
DPM is proud to announce that we managed to raise $2,860 from 12 generous donors who donated on our team page, with every donation multiplied by four!
DPM had two coffee cart sessions on the day, providing staff with free coffee! This was a fantastic opportunity to generate conversations and connect with the Alfred’s staff members by bonding over supporting such an incredible cause. There was also two prizes up for grabs:
- 1st prize a lunch for two at award winning Brae restaurant
- 2nd prize a Royal Doulton Prism Decanter set
By participating in this vital cause, DPM hopes to help break the stigma that surrounds the health of doctors. This was made possible with the amazing help of The Alfred Foundation who went above and beyond by allowing us to hold our own event to support the cause in our own unique way.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day run so smoothly and reach our fundraising goal. We can’t wait to support The Alfred Hospital again and we are looking forward to encouraging men and their families to improve their health leading up to the Father’s Day Appeal 2020.
